About THE FOXE & THE HOUND
When your life is a hot mess at twenty, it’s cute. At twenty-seven…well, not so much.
It’s just that my lofty dreams—making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily—have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I’ve decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I’ve settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry.
That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town’s new vet.
With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it’s not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups.
Like everyone else, I’m intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can’t refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he’ll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century.
It’s too bad I underestimated Adam’s irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more.
It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

If you love romantic comedies, you will love R. S. Grey.
It’s no secret I really enjoy some romance novels from time to time. However, what I find overbearing in the genre is the completely ridiculous, dramatic plots and backstories. Enter R.S. Grey.
Her books offer all the fun stuff of New Adult and Adult Romance, without the over the top storylines. I have read three of her previous novels and I really enjoyed all of them. The Foxe and the Hound is no exception!
Firstly, Madeleine is by far my favorite main character out of all of R.S. Grey books. Hell, maybe even out of the whole genre. She is really smart, sarcastic and she is at the same time confident, but also self-deprecating which I enjoyed immensely. And she was so funny! Which leads me to my next point…
This book is by far the funniest R.S. Grey book I read. It made me chuckle honestly at quite a few places. This was in part due to Madeleine’s character, but the story had such a lighthearted, funny air to it, which I fully appreciated.
I also really liked the dynamic between the characters. While Adam as a character wasn’t my favorite (he was great, but I preferred her other MCs), I loved their relationship. I think it was written organically, and I really liked their banter which is always my favorite thing.
I have to say that my favorite character was Mouse, who is Madeleine’s dog. He’s a Bernese Mountain dog named Mouse and he was brilliant and a wonderful addition to the story. Dogs are greatly appreciated at all times.
I did have some slight annoyance’s with the books. Firstly, I don’t like the dual POV. It’s something you see a lot in Romance and it annoys the hell out of me. However, that wasn’t that bad because I liked Adam (he is this sturdy, steady character) so I didn’t mind that much being in his head.
Another thing is that there was some slight girl-on-girl judgment that was rooted in their physical appearance. It wasn’t anything major, and those characters were awful as is, but I thought that they deserved criticism on their own, and we could have just stayed away from their looks. It wasn’t anything major and I did not mind it, but I noticed it, so I feel like it was only fair to mention it.
Overall, I highly recommend this. It was fun and fluffy and exciting and really funny and it has dogs. So you basically can go wrong with it. I also highly recommend you check R.S. Grey’s other books because she is awesome!
Final rating: 4 stars!
