Monthly Favorites: September

This month’s favorite things.

This month went by TOO fast. I don’t know where my September went. Now I am getting ready for uni again, and saying goodbye to my long, wonderful summer break. Anyways, let’s talk about this month’s favorites!

Favorite Book

I haven’t read a ton of books in September, simply because I started reading The Way of Kings and it’s been a MISSION to read it. It’s over 1200 pages and it’s so dense. So I’ve been wearing it (and myself) down, so my reading has slowed down. But I would say that my definite favorite read was The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater (obviously). It’s a reread, but a reread that led to me finding so much new to appreciate about the book. You can find my (spoilery) review HERE.

Favorite TV Show

The other reason why my reading has slowed down is the fact that I have been watching so many TV shows. And I loved almost all of them.

Firstly, the new season of Broadchurch is SPECTACULAR. This season focuses on a case of rape and it was done MASTERFULLY. Everything about the topic was handled so well and I absolutely adored it. Plus the aesthetic of small British town is something I could watch ALL day.

Then I watched Dear White People, and I loved it. I think it was really funny, but also really clever. Plus I love the topics that were explored and how they were explored and I think the characters were AMAZING.

Then I watched the new season of Narcos which I immensely enjoyed. I was worried how the show would switch over from the Escobar storyline, but they did a great job and I really enjoyed the season. Plus, Pedro Pascal is my fave.

Favorite Music

I finally started loving Hopeless Fountain Kingdom by Halsey. I wasn’t into when it first came out, but now I really love it. It can’t match Badlands, but I was really into it this month.

Nina Nesbitt has new music out! She is one of my faves and her new song Moments I’m Missing is SO GOOD. I also found a new artist, Sigrid. She is really great and I’ve been listening to her song Don’t Kill My Vibe non stop. ALSO, Lorde’s Homemade Dynamite Remix with Sza and Khalid (who are my faves) IS SUPERB. Go listen to all of these.

I’ve made a Spotify playlist of all the songs I’ve been loving this month and you can listen to it HERE.

Favorite Post

For the favorite post I’ve written, it’s hard to decide. It’s been a really productive month blogging wise. I’d say my favorite posts are definitely Kaz Brekker’s Reading List and the discussion on how blogging has changed my reading.

As for my favorite post I’ve read this month:

All of these bloggers and their posts are amazing and you should definitely check them out.

Favorite Game

I am really into video games, and I’ve been playing Civilization VI non stop this month. It’s a strategic game in which you have to build and maintain an empire, while competing with other players for the win. It’s super entertaining, but also super hard. I’ve won a hard total of 1 (ONE) game so far. But I am getting better!

So that’s it for this month’s favorites! Please let me know if you’ve enjoyed any of these things and be sure to share your favorites of the month with me!

  1. This is such a clever post idea! It’s like a monthly wrap up but better! I’m really glad to hear that “Dear White People” is a good show; I’ve been meaning to watch it but wanted to hear what people think.

Thank you also for the shout out! That’s really kind if you to give shout outs to bloggers and blog posts you’ve enjoyed! I had a feeling you liked that tag 😛

    You’re amazing!! ❤

  2. Ah, thanks so much for the shout-out! ❤️ I still haven’t watched Dear White People yet; THE SHAME! 🙈 I watched the movie and absolutely loved it, so I’m sure I’ll feel the same way about the show! And I need to watch Broadchurch already; I’ve had it on my to-watch list for so long now! 😂 And I loved The Raven King; I don’t get why people don’t like it!

    1. Of course! 💜 If you loved the movie, you’ll love the show, it’s so great and funny! And you’re bound to like Broadchurch as well. I feel that people expected something different with The Raven King and were hence disappointed
