Let’s talk about books I’ll be reading in the very near future.
I was thinking what I would pick up after I’m finished with The Way of Kings (if I ever do), so I thought it’d be nice to share my top reading priorities right now. These are books that I am going to be reading in the forseeable future, and are all books I am really excited to get to. If you’re interested in what I am currently reading, you can check out my little update on that HERE.
1. All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater
As everyone is well aware of, I am a huge Stiefvater fan. She is one of my favorite writers and All the Crooked Saints is probably my most anticipated release of the year. AND IT FINALLY CAME IN THE MAIL. I have the book, and I’ll be picking it up ASAP. I need some new Stiefvater writing, like, now.
EDIT: I have since read this and I really enjoyed it. You can find my review HERE.
2. Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson
The third book in the Wax and Wayne era, but the sixth one in the overall Mistborn series. I LOVE MISTBORN, and I have yet to read this. This is the last published book in the series, and I am really looking forward to it. Especially since it will allow me to finally read the short story Mistborn: The Secret History which features lots of secrets about the world and I am so excited to finally be able to read it.
3. Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
With all the new Grisha writing we’re getting, it’s finally time for me to finish this series. I wasn’t a big fan of the first book, but hopefully this gets better. Mostly, I am tired of not knowing the details of this series, since everyone raves about it. And I really want to know more about Nikolai, since we are getting a duology about him soon.
4. Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
I love Leigh so much, and I think she will make a great story out of Wonder Woman. This has been getting amazing reviews, so I am really excited to read it and join in on the fun. I don’t know very much about WW’s back story, which is another reason I am intrigued by this book.
5. Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body
This is Roxane’s deeply personal memoir about her relationship with her body (duh). She speaks about the sexual abuse she endured and how that was a turning point in her life and in her relationship with her body and how she feels about her appearance and herself. It’s a deeply harrowing memoir that takes on difficult topics, but I think it’s really important and I really want to get to it.
So those are the five books I really want to read ASAP. What are some of your top priorities? What are the books you’re mostly looking forward to right now?

I can’t even pick just five books.. I want to read Gentleman’s Guide so badly; but since reading Turtles All The Way Down, I’m desperate for more John Green as well! And, I have Daughter of the Burning City waiting for me – ever since Caraval and The Night Circus, that one’s been higher on my TBR.
Also, Wonder Woman! And.. The Grisha Trilogy! Oh, currently reading Throne of Glass so, like, all the sequels..
I have so many books on my TBR [the physical one..] and then eARC’s I still have to get to.. I seriously can’t even make a choice at this point because of all the options, haha! :’D
*Respect that you ARE able to make a list like this; I’d fail miserably..*

Haha, there’s definitely a lot more of these books, this is just the tip of the iceberg! Oh and you should read The Gentleman’s Guide ASAP! It’s soooo good! 😊

I might start it during Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! As soon as I finish Throne of Glass, there’s an eARC I HAVE to read, haha. But I heard so many awesome things about The Gentleman’s Guide.. I can’t imagine not liking it. 🙂

Oh my God, I have so many books! I want to get back into reading soon, and my actually let me buy a lot of YA thrillers such as The Special Ones, One Of Us Is Lying, Little Monsters, and Here Lies Daniel Tate, so I’ll hopefully get to them! 😄

Oh I think YA Thrillers are a great way to get back into reading. I’ve heard good things about One of Us Is Lying, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it!

Great choices!! And oh my god, I have SO MANY BOOKS I want to read immediately. I’ve basically only been buying books that I plan on reading immediately because I want to save money, but I have so many arcs I’m desperate to read.

Yeah I am the same! I keep buying books, but only reading ARCs though… I have to stop doing that 😅

same :// I’ve mostly just decided to request arcs less, because there are so. many. out there.

Yeah, me too, but then I just end up going on big request sprees on Netgalley, which makes it even worse 🙃

The books I’m prioritizing right now are books that I have to read for school and library books.

That’s really nice! My uni “reading” is just massive psychology textbooks so it doesn’t really help 😂

One of my classes is Library Services for Teens so I get to read books that I would normally read anyway, it’s fun!

I hope you’re enjoying Way Of Kings! It is certainly a long one. The sequel was great, too, but it looks like you already have plenty of great reads to get to after way of kings.

I finished it finally! I enjoyed it, and I think it’s a great set up book, loved the ending, but it was sooo slow and dense for the first like 600 pages! Yeah, definitely not going to jump into the sequel yet, I need a break

Totally understandable. I don’t mind a slow burn too much, so long as the ending delivers. Still, Way of Kings takes some stamina until it really starts to pay off. But once it does, it does a great job!
I guess there’s no rush to get to the next one, since Sanderson’s planning on doing 10, and the 3rd one is just about to be released. No sense hurrying up just so you can wait on him. But I’d suggest getting around to Words of Radiance eventually.

The Way of Kings definitely picked up mid way, and I became invested in the story. I am definitely going to get to Words of Radiance, I am just gonna take my time.
