This month’s favorite things.
I seriously can’t believe this month is over. Times fly when you’re having fun heh (NOT. University’s in, fun’s out). Anyways, let’s talk about some more pleasant things, like my favorites of October, shall we?
Favorite Book
A definite favorite of the month is All the Crooked Saints. It’s been my most anticipated release of the year, and it did not disappoint me. I think Maggie’s magical writing really shined through in this book, and I loved it, even though it had some issues. If you want to know more, you can read my review HERE.
Another favorite is Hunger by Roxane Gay and it’s absolutely stunning. I was blown away with how insightful and vulnerable it is and I can’t wait to write a review for it. I have most of the book highlighted because it’s amazing. So so good, highly recommend it.
Favorite TV Show
For the last couple of months, I’ve been obsessed with Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Incredible cast, incredible writing, incredible characters… And it’s so funny. And on top of all that manages to discuss important topics. Highly recommend it.
Stranger Things is here!!! I absolutely loved the second season. Sure, there were things that weren’t perfect, but I adore the characters and the writing and it’s just all around brilliant. Loved it. Also, Steve’s my fave.
I also started Mindhunter and it’s really good. I love Fincher’s cinematography and the way he does his movies (or tv shows) and the plot is really amazing and all the psychology stuff is also very great.
Favorite Music
Pink’s Beautiful Trauma came out! I love Pink, she is one of my favorite artists, and while this album isn’t my favorite of hers, it’s still really good music. I just love listening to Pink’s voice again.
I’ve also been loving the new Hurts album, Desire, and it’s rare I like every song on an album, but I like every song on Desire.
Oh, and I’ve been really into The Vamps recently. If you want to listen to the songs I’ve been loving in October, you can find my October playlist HERE.
Favorite Post
I have to give it to my discussion on negative reviews. It’s one of my most popular posts ever, plus I really enjoyed writing it and seeing all the feedback it got. So thank you for that. Also, this month’s reading list featuring my fave Nina Zenik, which got attention from Leigh Bardugo herself. Good times.
As for fellow bloggers’ posts, there were A LOT of great ones this month:
- Mikaela @ The Well-Thumbed Reader showcases 43 2018 releases
- Janel @ Keeper of Pages reviews The Hate U Give
- Rachel @ Pace, Amore, Libri talks about this year’s Nobel Prize winner
- Melanie @ Mel to the Any gives a in depth review of The Way of Kings
- Elise @ The Bookish Actress discusses why some books get called out more than others
- Shanah @ The Bionic Bookworm does The Book Mash Up tag
- Birdie Bookworm does The Raven Cycle Tag
- Lia @ Lost in a Story talks about her fictional female role models
- Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews also does The Raven Cycle Tag
- Janel @ Keeper of Pages’ take on negative reviews (she inspired my post!)
Like I said, the blogging community put out some really great content this month. Obviously, you should follow everyone above because they are amazing.
Random Favorite
Each month I have a really random favorite to share. This month it’s American Football. I’ve been so into NFL, it’s ridiculous. I never thought I’d be that person, but I’ve been looking into teams, and players and it’s a really fascinating sport. I still haven’t decided which team is my team, but there’s still a long way to go in the season.
So those are all the things I’ve been loving for the past month! I’d love to hear your favorites of October! Favorite book, movie, show, you name it, I want to know!

Of course, I loved that post! OH Steve is by far my favorite character now! I love him so much. I loved what they did with him in this season and he is my absolute fave. I do however ship Nancy and Johnathan 😂 I think Steve should be with someone different

The business side of the NFL is so entertaining right now, it can be more entertaining than the games themselves.
