I Am Doing a 48h Readathon and You Should Join Me! #InsideMy48Readathon

As promised, here’s a 48h readathon!

So I’ve wanted to do a 48h readathon for a while. I really enjoy watching these readathon vlogs, and it seems so fun to read for 48 hours (not whole 48, you’re allowed to sleep, but not too much) and see how much reading you can fit into it. So I was planning on making a 48 hour readathon that all of us can participate in – and here it is.

I was hoping to do these on a weekend, so more people can participate possibly, but weekends are too busy for me, so this readathon will happen on Tuesday, July 17th! It starts at midnight, July 17th, wherever you are in the world, and ends in exactly 48 hours from then!

I will be updating you on my reading on Instagram and Twitter, and if you decide to join, do the same! I will use the hashtag #InsideMy48Readathon (it’s a mouthful) and you can use it as well so we can keep up with each other!

I even came up with 4 challenges for you to do, if you like those!

onePeople always read graphic novels for these readathons because they’re quick and easy to get through. Plus, for some people, comics and graphic novels are way out of their comfort zone, so they can be totally a real challenge for those people. So yay! I would recommend you pick up Giant Days, Descender, The Wicked and the Divine or Sweet Tooth!

twoI love short books, and I think there’s an art in managing to do something amazing in a small amount of pages. So the next challenge is to read a short book that is under 100 pages. It can be a novella or a really short book, whatever works for you! I highly recommend Dear Ijeawele by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie!

threeThis challenge is made to push you to get started on a big book you’ve been putting off because it’s that long. You will be able to get a good dent into it in 48 hours, so this challenge is for you! Try picking up a Sanderson or a Rothfuss book!

fourFinally, try to finish at least 4 books. I know I will fail at this, but maybe there are some of you who would be able to do it!

And those are all the challenges! I hope this is a fun idea for some of you and that some of you will be joining me. If not, I will update you all on how my reading is going (follow me on  Instagram and Twitter for that) and I hope to see you all on Tuesday, let me know in the comments if you will be joining in!

  1. Hehe you know what? I think I’ll join you in this. I’m currently beta-reading this big book (and totally behind lol), so I need to spend a shit-ton of time reading anyway. 😊 Love the idea!

  3. I’m 100% here for your own 48 hours Readathon!! 😍 I think I will join in, as I finally have a lot of time to read and I’m also doing the Biannual Bibliothon. So I will use the 48 Hours to boost my reading game (at least a bit, I’m away for most of Wednesday)! I already have a set TBR so I won’t be able to complete the first 2 challenges, but I really like that you came up with a few challenges

  4. That sounds awesome. Good luck. I’ve seen readathons around and as much as I’d like to participate, my eyes just can’t take it. I can only read for a couple of hours these days before they feel like they’re about to drop out of my head.
