Welcome to another reading wrap up! This month is too short and I have no idea how we allowed for that to happen? I think this should be somehow rethought because I need those extra few days to get things in order. Anyways, this month was not fun. I was really sick and I also had so much work to do, so I just have to get used to the fact that 2019 is going to be at maximum speed AT ALL TIMES. I also decided to lower my reading goal for the year, to make myself feel better about not reading as much as I wanted to. I have so far read 10 books this year, which is great, but it’s 15 books LESS than I have read by this time last year. SO. I lowered my expectations for the year, and so far – so good! Let’s talk about what I read in February!
First thing I finished was my reread of Windwitch and I loved it even more this time around. This is my third time reading this book, and I appreciate it more each time. There’s a lot more groundwork for the books to come and the character development is really well done. More of my thoughts can be found HERE.
Next, I read The Risk by Elle Kennedy and I absolutely loved it! If you’re looking for a good New Adult Romance – this is it! I loved the characters SO MUCH, and they are probably my favorite Elle Kennedy couple so far. The chemistry and the banter were so well done too! More of my thoughts can be found in my REVIEW.
Then I reread Sightwitch by Susan Dennard and I once again, loved it. This novella is essential to the series and it just adds so much to the world. Plus, both Ryber and Eridysi are fantastic characters that I loved from the first page, so I cannot recommend this more. If you need more reasons to pick this up, they can be found HERE.
Absolutely loved this as well! Tikka Chance on Me is so well-written and the characters have such amazing chemistry. My one grievance with this was that since this is a novella, things developed a tiny bit too quickly for my taste. Still, wonderful and would love to read more by the author!
Emma Mills never disappoints! This was full of love and great friendships and family relationships and it was just all around stunning and devastating, in a good way. Plus, it had that good old small town charm which I love and adore. I just think Emma Mills is the queen of YA contemporaries and she does not get enough credit. If you want to know more about the book and my thoughts, you can find that HERE.
This is my most anticipated release of the year and I am glad to report it totally lived up to all my absurd expectations. It was some of the best Fantasy I ever read. The world-building excelled in this one and the characters just keep getting better and growing and I was just so invested from the first to the last page. By far the best in the series. Full review available HERE.
Finally, my final read of the month was Cala by Laura Legge. I really enjoyed this one. I think it was really beautifully written and I loved the discussions of community, womanhood and purity in it. However, I wasn’t really connected with the characters, which is something that is really important for my love for a book. Still would highly recommend this one, and a full review will be up on Monday!
Here’s how I did this month:
I had a good reading month and I liked all the books I read, which is a total win in my book! Let me know in the comments what was your favorite book of the month!

UGH! Ordering that Emma Mills book today! It’s happening! I’m done waiting!
Also, great wrap up! Having read 10 books is great! I’m on 6 (almost 7) with a goal of 52 this year — so slightly off track. I lowered mine last year (bad reading year) and I was really happy that I did, so good on you!

Omg you have to! It was so cute and so good and JUST overall precious!
And thank you! Last year, my goal was 75, and I got to that number in October, so I set the goal to 75 again this year, but it wasn’t working, so I just lowered it. And I think it’s working like it did for you!

Bloodwitch was EVERYTHING. I am so excited for you to start the series?? But I am always worried if people will like the books I like too 😅 And Emma Mills just understands friendships so well? She’s a magician!
Exactly – I just want to read and there’s a virus attacking me + my master thesis is always attacking?? Can’t a girl just read??
Thank you so much! And you too, happy reading! 💜

I’m sorry that February wasn’t that good for you. I feel like I’m about to get sick too – my whole body hurts and I have a runny nose -, and I know, for a fact, it’s because I’m stressed. For some reason, everytime I’m overwhelmed by life, I also happen to get sick. It’s kinda like my immune system can’t handle stress very well, either, lol. 2019 apparently seems busy for you too, so I think it was a smart choice to lower your reading goal. Hopefully, with less expectations, you’ll start to feel better and so will your body!
Hope you have a great March! 😊

Thank you! And I hate that feeling – when you’re about to get sick but you are not yet sick, so you’re stuck in this limbo. And that’s so relatable – stress always gets to me physically. Thank you so much and you too!

I think it’s amazing that you lowered your goal, there’s definitely no shame in lowering your goal, I’ve done it a few times. It looks like you had a great reading month, and I love the cover of the Emma Mills book.

Yeah it just made more sense for me to lower it this year. And I did – it was a great month for me. And I love all of Emma Mills covers, they’re all so pretty.
