Throwing it back and doing an award tag.
So when I first started out blogging, I got tagged in a couple of these “award” posts, but I haven’t done one in ages, so I am excited. I was tagged by the wonderful Elise @ The Bookish Actress, who is so nice and so funny and has the best discussion posts out there and you should check her blog out ASAP.
The rules are pretty straight forward:
- Link to the blogger(s) who nominated you
- Answer their questions,
- Nominate a few people, and then
- Ask them three questions of your own
So Elise asked some really great and fun questions, so here we go:
1. What are your favorite books in each of your favorite series?
So, let’s get TRC out of the way: The Dream Thieves is by far my favorite (review HERE). It’s Ronan’s book, and he is my favorite character by far. I love the way Maggie writes him, how incredibly complex he is, I love his family dynamic, I love the street racing, it’s all GREAT.
Then Harry Potter obviously. My favorite in the series are probably The Order of the Phoenix and The Deathly Hallows. I prefer the later, darker books, which is an unpopular opinion, but there it is. I especially love the whole school experience of The Order of the Phoenix, the exams and stuff. It’s my jam. My favorite thing about the HP series are the “ordinary” bits of Hogwarts life.
Then Mistborn! My favorite in that series is definitely the last book. The Hero of Ages is mind blowingly good. Like you just sit there in awe of what Sanderson does with his world and characters. 10/10, would recommend.
Those are probably my top 3 series and those are my faves in the series!
2. What are some of your tv show otps?
Oh lord, I love this question. Let me get into it a bit okay?
So Gilmore Girls. Lorelai and Luke AN ALL TIME FAVORITE. I LOVE THEM TOGETHER. Luke is one of my favorite characters in all of tv and they are so great together, and the whole plot got messed up and they did not get what they deserved entirely but OKAY. I’m over it (not really). Also I love Jess and Rory, I wish they ended up together so bad.
Then I really used to love Pretty Little Liars, before it got dumb and badly written, and I love Toby and Spencer. They were my favorite in that series and they are great.
I am also a huge fan of How to Get Away With Murder and Connor and Oliver are THE OTP of that show and tv in general. They are so great together and I love them. I also hardcore ship Laurel and Frank, because I DON’T KNOW. They have great chemistry.
OH ALSO. I adore Parks and Recreation and April and Andy are the greatest couple ever. I love the contrast between them and it’s brilliant. I also love both of their characters individually.
That’s more than enough, even though I could probably go on.
3. A few popular ships you hate?
Listen, I am really lame and I am usually down with canon ships. I just accept it and go with the flow (in books, not in tv). So I don’t know? I can talk maybe about TV a bit and maybe some non canon ships. Let’s do that.
So I hate Jon and Daenerys together. HATE IT. Not just because of spoilers, but just in general I think it’s too easy and predictable to have them end up together. It’s boring. HATE IT.
Then, I HATE the Gale x Katniss ship. I hate Gale in general and would much prefer her alone, but if she needs to end up with someone, I would take Peeta over Gale any day.
I hate the ship of Harry and Hermione. The best thing that existed is the fact that there wasn’t a love triangle there and that Hermione and Harry were just best friends and then people go and ship them. Weird. Plus, I love Hermione and Ron.
And I can’t think of anything else, my mind is blank.
And that’s it! I swear to god, these questions really brought my inner fangirl out. Sheesh. Here’s my questions:
1. If you could cross two of your favorite books/settings/series, which two would that be?
2. Which book or series would you like to have a prequel of?
3. Which two authors would you love to see collaborate on a book together?
So I am tagging the first people that pop up in my reader as always:
Don’t feel pressured to do this, if you like the questions do it, if not, it’s all good. Hope you enjoyed this, I had a lot of fun doing it!
