My ever favorite topic – beautiful book covers.
Ever since Janel @ Keeper of Pages started teasing me on every possible platform about my love for pretty covers I decided that the only good way to retaliate is – TALK MORE BOOK COVERS. I thought long and hard (meaning I really didn’t) about what makes me love a book cover and here’s some stuff I came up with.
1. The Title Screaming at Me
I really enjoy covers where the book title is really prominent. For example:
2. Flowers Everywhere
Who doesn’t like flowers? Please don’t answer that. Just look at these:
3. Love a Good Theme
I love when a cover makes sense. When it tells a story and captures the book perfectly. Super into it. Like these:
4. Abstract
I also love when the books have some sort of a vague, abstract book cover. For example:
5. Vibrant Colors
I love books that really stand out and that mix really strong colors. Got to love them. Like these:
Bonus Category: This Cover of The Wrath and the Dawn
I mean what a blessing to the publishing industry. So much so that it deserves a category of its own:
And those are some things I love to see in book covers! Do you have any specific things you like on covers? Do you not care? *gasps in horror* Let me know!

You are speaking to a cover junkie here! Colors are essential and fonts! I fell in love with Yana font that I spotted on Forest of a Thousand lanterns cover. Only after come the pictures 😉

Covers aren’t make it or break it for me. Like the cover could be absolutely gorgeous, but the story on the inside could be awful.

Definitely. And it’s not like I would buy a paranormal or a historical novel just because it has a nice cover, because I never read those. If a book only midly interests me though, the cover might help push me into getting it 😊

Ooh, yes, I’ve seen people hate titles taking up most of the covers, but I like it! I’m drawn to a nice font. 😂 Also, for some reason, I’m very much attracted to flowers/nature and anything to do with fire on the cover, for some reason? I actually hated the new Wrath and the Dawn cover when I first saw it because I really liked the previous ones, but it’s one of those books that looks better in person! 😍

Yes, fire looks LIT (see what I did there? I hate myself) on covers! You hated this cover??? The one I put in this post??? I am SHOCKED.

Totally with you on all of these, but especially agree with the abstract and strong colors. They catch my eye the most in bookstores. 😉 Love this post!

I love simplistic covers. Usually a solid color with beautiful writing. That is what draws me into books. Like Wicked Charm and the Merciless to give examples. But I do have to admit, I am digging the covers in this post.
